Quick facts

Oxford is the oldest university in the English-speaking world, with teaching there since the 11th century, and its golden-stone colleges and libraries are the reason to come.

The Bodleian's Divinity School and Duke Humfrey's Library were Hogwarts' hospital wing and library in the Harry Potter films, and Christ Church and its Alice in Wonderland links draw fans of both.

The Ashmolean, the Pitt Rivers and the Natural History Museum, home to the only known soft-tissue remains of a dodo, sit within a few minutes' walk of each other.
