Quick facts

Henry VIII founded Christ Church in 1546, on the base of Cardinal College, which Thomas Wolsey founded in 1525.

Tom Quad is the largest quadrangle in Oxford, and the Great Hall beside it was where Charles I held his parliament in the Civil War.

The cathedral is one of the smallest in England and doubles as the college chapel, and the college appears in the Harry Potter films and has links to Alice in Wonderland.
