Quick facts

Salisbury Cathedral's 123-metre spire is the tallest church spire in Britain, and it rises over a green Close you can wander freely.

The cathedral's Chapter House holds one of only four surviving copies of the 1215 Magna Carta, generally described as the best preserved.

A charter market fills the Market Place every Tuesday and Saturday, with Old Sarum's hilltop ruins, the first cathedral site, a short hop away.
