Guided tours go down into the stone-vaulted cellars that once stored the wine trade of a busy medieval port.

In the 14th century the equivalent of four million bottles of wine a year passed through the town, which is why the cellars survive.
Volunteer guides lead tours from April to October, starting from the Town Well in Castle Street.
Tours must be booked in advance and the cellar steps are steep and uneven, so they are not suitable for anyone with mobility problems.
