St Peter's is one of only three round-towered churches in Sussex, all in the Ouse valley and all built in the first half of the twelfth century.
The tower is round, with a conical shingled spire that becomes polygonal near the top.
The nave carries medieval wall paintings, including scenes from the life of Christ on the north wall and Christ in Majesty on the west wall.
