Quick facts
The lido opened on 25 May 1935 with a 50-metre main pool, plus a children's pool and a paddling pool.
The main pool is heated to 24–26 °C from March to October, and since 2021 it has also opened for cold-water swimming from early November to early February.
A charitable trust formed by the Friends of the Lido has run it since 1996.
