It was built around 1130 by the Fraternity of the Holy Sepulchre, probably a group of Augustinian canons.
Its round shape was inspired by the rotunda of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, and it is one of four medieval round churches still in use in England.
It is open to visitors, with an exhibition on the impact of Christianity in England.
