The twin towers of a ruined church on the cliff edge, beside the remains of an early Roman coastal fort, free to visit.

The site was one of the earliest Roman forts in the Saxon Shore chain of coastal defences, though much of it has been lost to coastal erosion.
After the Romans left it became an Anglo-Saxon monastery, and the tall towers date from a 12th-century remodelling of the church.
The towers have long served as a navigation marker for ships at sea, and entry is free, with the North Tower open on selected days from April to October.
