Quick facts

Louisa Bay is one of Broadstairs' seven golden-sand bays, lying between Dumpton Gap and Viking Bay.

It is one of the smallest bays on this stretch of coast, and the beach almost disappears as the tide comes in.

It is said to have been called Goodstone Steps before being renamed after a member of the family of railway engineer Thomas Russell Crampton.
