Quick facts

The columns and stones come from the Roman city of Leptis Magna in present-day Libya and were given to the Prince Regent in 1816.

They were put up here as a ruin in 1826 and restored in 2009.

The ruins are now fenced off to protect them, so they are seen from the path.
