Jim Ede and his wife Helen turned four small cottages into one home for his collection of early 20th-century art.
The collection includes works by Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, Ben Nicholson and Joan Miró, gathered through Ede's friendships with artists.
Ede gave the house and collection to the University in 1966 and kept an open house each afternoon, showing students round.
