Quick facts

Eastney lies in the south-east corner of Portsea Island, where the city meets the Solent and Langstone Harbour.

The Eastney Barracks were built as headquarters of the Royal Marine Artillery, who moved in during 1867.

Fort Cumberland and the Eastney Beam Engine House museum, home of the area's beam engines, are both in the same district.
