Quick facts

The Floating Harbour opened on 1 May 1809 and keeps the water at a constant level whatever the tide.

Today the harbour is lined with M Shed, the Arnolfini gallery, We The Curious and the SS Great Britain.

Ferry boats run along the harbour, so you can see the waterfront from the water.
