Sir Winston Churchill was buried in the churchyard on 30 January 1965, and his wife Clementine was buried in the same tomb in 1977.
The present church opened in 1804, and its chancel was rebuilt and the nave restored in 1891.
Other members of the Spencer-Churchill family are also buried in the churchyard.
