Quick facts

A 100-mile National Trail along the chalk ridge from Winchester to Eastbourne, with views over the English Channel and the Isle of Wight to the south and the Weald to the north.

Most of the route is bridleway, so you can walk, cycle or ride it, and it links sights such as Devil's Dyke, the Long Man of Wilmington and the Seven Sisters.

You do not need nine days: a circular walk of around six miles from Amberley station climbs onto the ridge at Amberley Mount, and Bignor Roman Villa and Parham House lie close by.
