Quick facts

A sheltered, secluded chalk bay of sand reached by a flight of steps, with natural caves and a chalk arch to explore at low tide.

Clifftop paths link the bay to Joss Bay and Botany Bay, passing the 18th-century Kingsgate Castle, for an easy sea-view walk along the Thanet coast.

The beach is cut off by the sea at both ends at high tide, so it is best visited on a falling tide, with cafés and lifeguards a short walk away at Joss Bay or Botany Bay.
