Joss Bay is Thanet's best-known surfing beach, and a surf school on the sand gives lessons and stand-up paddleboarding from March to November.
A wide stretch of sand sits between chalk cliffs, with a Blue Flag and Seaside Award, seasonal lifeguards, a café, deckchair hire and rockpools at low tide.
North Foreland Lighthouse stands on the headland just above the bay, and the beach is a 20-minute walk from Broadstairs station.
