Quick facts

High Rocks is a geological Site of Special Scientific Interest, with some of the highest sandstone cliffs in the Weald and open fissures large enough for a person to enter.

The Aerial Walk, a series of bridges linking the crags, was built in the 19th century, after the rocks became a tourist attraction following James II's visit to Tunbridge Wells.

There is evidence of Stone Age and Iron Age occupation here, and a free, unfenced stretch of the ridge can be reached by public footpath beside the railway bridge.
