Quick facts

Camber is the only sand dune system in East Sussex, with dunes up to a kilometre wide in the west backing a beach about three miles long.

The beach has stood in for the Sahara in Follow That Camel and for wartime beaches in films such as The Longest Day.

A cycle path and the 100 bus link the beach to Rye, whose station is on the Hastings to Ashford line, so a day here works without a car.
