Quick facts

A small, unspoilt sandy bay about 200 metres long, ringed by white chalk cliffs and stacks, and awarded Blue Flag status in 2019.

At low tide you can walk along the sand to neighbouring Kingsgate Bay, and the Thanet coast path carries on past its chalk arch.

Visitors comb the foot of the cliffs and the rock pools at low tide for fossils, and smuggler Joss Snelling was caught on this beach with contraband in 1769.
