Quick facts

A staircase of 50 steps leads down to a beach of rock pools, pebbles and sand under the chalk cliffs.

It is one of the few places where you can walk right up to the Seven Sisters, part of one of the longest stretches of undeveloped coastline on the south coast.

The cliffs here erode by up to a metre a year, and the row of old coastguard cottages on the top has lost several houses to the edge.
