Quick facts

The lighthouse was built between 1900 and 1902 and has been working since 2 October 1902.

Its tower is 33 metres tall, painted white with a broad red band, and stands about 165 metres out from the cliff base.

When Trinity House said it could no longer afford to repaint the stripes in 2011, a campaign raised the £27,000 needed to keep them.
